ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Foreign Ministry spokesman Nafees Zakaria said on Thursday that the Indian government’s attempts to isolate Pakistan globally have failed badly.

In his weekly briefing, Nafees Zakaria dismissed India’s claims of isolating Pakistan as being ridiculous, saying that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and gas pipeline projects are solid proof of Pakistan’s strong economic relations with other countries.
The FO spokesman condemned the ongoing Indian atrocities in Occupied Kashmir and said there has been an increase in deaths during detention in the region. He added that Indian forces are continuing to use pellet guns against innocent civilians to quell protests, the use of which have rendered hundreds of Kashmiris blind.
The spokesman however lauded the decision of the United Nations’ Human Rights Commission to take action against the human rights violations in Occupied Kashmir. He also said that the OIC Foreign Minister Council had approved the resolution over Kashmir, which was a positive.
Nafees Zakaria further said that India was trying to distract the world from focusing on the Kashmir atrocities with its negative politics against Pakistan. He noted that the SAARC Conference has been delayed eight times in the past, adding that India has been behind the delays every time.
The spokesman also condemned India’s treatment of Pakistani artistes amid the escalating tensions between the two neighbouring countries.
