Panama Papers petitions: SC to resume hearing on November 1ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan will resume hearing of the Panama Papers case on November 1, just a day before the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's protest against the government.
A three-judge bench headed by Chief Justice Anwar Zaheel Jamali would hear the petitions regarding offshore business interests of Pakistanis revealed in the massive data leak of Panamanian law firm. The data leak called Panama Papers was released by the International Consortium of Journalists in April, triggering investigations in different countries.    
The Supreme Court issued notices to the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Hussain Nawaz, Maryam Nawaz, Captain (retd) Safdar and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Imran Khan, Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) chairman, NAB chairman, ECP, Cabinet Division, Ministry of Interior and others on Thursday.
A bench was hearing the petitions including two petitions filed by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf calling for the disqualification of the prime minister.
PTI chief had filed a petition praying the court to stop Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar from working and order an inquiry against the prime minister and his family.
Three more petitions were filed by Jamat-e-Islami Chief Sirajul Haq, Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed and Watan Party relating to the Panama Papers
